Caution : wood is a living material. White oak is a species who may have colour variations, cracks, splits and mineral streaks. Inform yourself about the possible variations.
White Oak - Stockholm
Nuance: Moderate colour variation relatively uniform. Extreme colour cariations are not accepted in paler colors but accepted in dark ones for this appearance. The appearance of the product varies from a specie to the other based on the natural coloration of fibre. Expect more variation in birch and ash specie. Small knots up to 5mm (3/16") are accepted. Splits and fissures NOT ACCEPTED. Mineral streaks small 150mm (6") are accepted. Checks none for most species but White Oak and Hickory small isolated checks accepted. Slight colour abnormalities are accepted (ex. tool marks, sticker stains, discoloration, blue stains etc...)
Variation with knots: Pronounced colour variation with knots with darker and more visible wood grain. Natural color all colour variations are accepted in this appearance. Small and sound filled knots up to 50mm (2") are accepted. Splits and fissures NOT ACCEPTED. Minearl streaks accepted. Limited number of checks less than 40mm (1.5") long that have been repaired are accepted in the area around knots. Slight colour abnormalities are accepted (ex. tool marks, sticker stains, discoloration, blue stains etc...)
